Exhibition at
Personal Structures,
Palazzo Mora, ECC Italy 2026
May 9th - November 22nd
Illuminating objects made of wood and Japanese kozu paper. Large, organically shaped shells of paper, floating in space, supported by penetrated wooden branches. Powerful and delicate. In dialogue with each other and the surroundings. Performing a dance.
The works challenges the boundary between the rationality of design and the free spirit of art, in search of beauty and an original language of expression.
The objects are both extravagant and minimalist. Bold organic shapes crafted from tactful, sensitive materials. Each object is unique. Created especially for the space that embraces them.
Father and son, Steen Higham and Bastian Higham's decade-long vision of creating self-supporting organic shells of paper, illuminated from within, has come to fruition. Steen and Bastian’s distinct signature celebrates the invaluable relationship between abstraction and nature.
