Designer Steen Higham decided to create the best series of wooden kitchen tools on the market.
They had to be beautiful, pleasing to the touch, and work well.
It all began with a spoon...
Created with a special focus on functionality, durability, and beauty. Designed for those who see cooking as an experience – one that deserves the finest and most beautiful tools to look at, touch, own, and use.
30 cm teakwood wooden spoon, designed for cooking in pots rather than for scooping or serving. The spoon's bowl is therefore relatively flat, allowing food to be easily tapped off. The tapered head of the spoon reaches all the way into the curved bottom of the pot, and the flat side is ideal for scraping. The edge is sufficiently sharp for the purpose, and the teakwood makes the spoon so durable that it will not chip or wear down with use.
Production is carried out on a CNC milling machine – a tool that can cut almost any shape from a piece of wood with millimetre precision.
This method gives us the freedom to let function and aesthetics dictate the form of each tool, rather than the limitations of the production method.
Finally, each piece is manually sanded and finished by hand.
Exactly as it is meant to be experienced, used, and cherished.
